LONDON, August 26, 2026 – Today Shure announced it will return to IBC 2026 to demonstrate how advanced audio technologies are helping shape the future of broadcast and live production. As an Associate Sponsor and active participant in the IBC Accelerator Media Innovation Programme, Shure is collaborating across five projects that explore new approaches to AI-enabled production, audience personalization, immersive experiences, and intelligent content creation.

IFeL: Immersive Festival Live – Remote Presence at Scale
Imagine experiencing a live festival from anywhere in the world with the feeling of being in the crowd. IFeL is exploring how immersive video, spatial audio, and interactive participation can create richer remote experiences that bring audiences closer to live events than traditional broadcasts ever could. Shure is contributing immersive audio capture technologies that help make these next-generation experiences possible.
Intelligent and Personalized Broadcasts for Live Sports and Beyond: From Broadcast to "meCast"
The future of sports broadcasting could give every viewer greater control over their experience, from following a particular player and hearing more of the action around them to accessing localized commentary or personalized statistics. The meCast project is exploring how AI and intelligent audio can transform traditional broadcasts into personalized experiences tailored to the individual viewer. Shure's DCA901 array microphone technology and intelligent processing help capture and isolate the sounds that make this level of personalization possible. The Savannah Bananas, a Shure partner, are also supporting the proof of concept from the customer and live sports perspective, with Head of Engineering Sean McCluskey contributing insights and real-world expertise.
SMART STORIES: The Agentic Production Ecosystem
SMART STORIES is exploring a future where AI can work alongside production teams as stories develop, understanding context and taking action when it matters. The goal is to help newsrooms manage increasingly complex production workflows with greater speed and intelligence, while allowing teams to focus more on the story itself. Building on multi-award-winning IBC Accelerator work, the 2026 project is moving that vision closer to real-world production through technologies including the Story Object Model (SOM), Agent Skills, and Time-Addressable Media Store (TAMS).
Shure is bringing audio into this intelligent production environment. Device status, audio analysis, and processing can become part of the workflow, allowing systems to recognize issues in incoming audio and trigger the appropriate processing as content arrives. By connecting professional audio with cloud-based services and AI agents, Shure is helping shape a future where audio becomes an intelligent, responsive part of the production process.
Additional projects include VooPla: The Decision Twin, which is exploring digital twins for remote production planning and resource management, and Crystal Clear, which is focused on improving speech intelligibility and accessibility across media environments. Shure is supporting both initiatives with its expertise in professional audio, microphone technology, and wireless systems.
