Jacob Collier Releases Live Album Recorded with State-of-the-Art Shure Microphones and Wireless System
Today five-time Grammy-winning UK singer and multi-instrumentalist Jacob Collier released a collection of publicly improvised reimaginings of famous songs from Queen, ABBA, James Taylor, Frankie Valli, Elvis Presley, Dougie MacLean, Cole Porter, The Beatles and more.
The performances for this album were captured in high-resolution, studio-quality surround sound using a selection of Shure microphones and wireless equipment, with Collier’s signature vocal on the newly released KSM11 condenser vocal microphone. The KSM11 is featured on the record’s cover.
The stunning audience performances were preserved via four KSM44A large diaphragm condenser microphones and AD3 plug-on wireless transmitters from Shure’s Axient® Digital Wireless System. Collier’s recording engineers positioned the microphones amongst the audience in optimal locations each night, with mics sometimes hundreds of feet from the stage.
This combination of unique equipment rivaled the best recording studios in the world in an ultra-portable form-factor, so they could be transported to each of the 70 iconic venues of the 2022 Djesse World Tour. The result is an unparalleled, historic catalogue of beautifully captured and reproduced magical performances by Jacob and hundreds of thousands of audience members around the world.
