Customer Profile

The Lucerne University of Teacher Education (PH Luzern) has been at the center of the training of future teachers for over a decade. However, the outdated AV systems are increasingly causing technical problems and high maintenance costs. A comprehensive renewal of the AV technology together with the technology partner Avidec was therefore indispensable.

Request

Due to the merger of the PH Lucerne with the University of Lucerne, precise specifications regarding product compatibility and design had to be adhered to during the modernization. The aim was to bring the seminar rooms up to date in time for the start of the semester and to ensure error-free use.

Solution

The project started in May 2021 and included the complete overhaul of the AV systems in 28 rooms on the second floor of the PH Lucerne. Only modern Shure technologies have been used for the equipment to ensure the highest audio quality and reliability:

  • Shure QLX Wireless Handheld and Bodypack Transmitters: For use in seminar rooms to provide clear and stable audio transmission.
  • Shure Twinplex Headsets: For first-class speech intelligibility and comfort during long lectures and seminars.
  • Shure Microflex Advance (MXA) Ceiling Array Microphones: Purpose-built for hybrid rooms to enable seamless Teams and Zoom conferencing.

Advantages

The modernized rooms offer a trouble-free and professional working environment. The new Shure technologies reduce maintenance costs and significantly improve teaching and learning conditions. Thanks to the professional installation and training provided by Avidec AG, the project was completed on schedule.

Hanspeter Herzog, Head of Infrastructure at the PH Lucerne, praised the cooperation and commitment of Avidec AG.
