De UA874 is een logaritmisch-periodieke dipoolantenne met een cardioïde richtingskarakteristiek in de richting van het dekkingsgebied die RF-signalen buiten het dekkingsgebied beter dempt dan standaard omnidirectionele ½-lambda antennes.
