Diversity & Inclusion
Shure is committed to creating a work environment that allows every Associate to be their authentic self.
We believe it’s the people, not just our products, that make us successful. Every story of every Associate has left a unique imprint on each product that bears the Shure name.
We honor the diversity of our teams through Associate Resource Groups, International Food Days, mentorship programs, and global awareness celebrations that are designed to promote pride and togetherness at every level.
We've developed our IDEA (Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Access) initiative that includes Associates from all over the world. They are helping to continue to define and implement important Company actions in this space that reflect Shure's Core Values.
Shure began in 1925. The world was much different then, but one thing has remained constant through the vision of our founder, S.N. Shure – the appreciation for diversity and inclusion.
What was once a small, downtown Chicago company has expanded to a global presence with Associates of all different backgrounds and cultures. Our Customers also reflect this diversity as our presence touches every part of the world.
We embrace diversity and inclusion efforts. In fact, we started three employee “Associate Resource Groups” we call VIBEs – Values, Inclusion, Belonging, Equity. These VIBEs represent different Associate communities and their allies:
- CARE – Cultural And Racial Equity
- Pride – LGBTQIA+
- WE – Women Everywhere
We have expanded these VIBEs regionally where Shure has office locations:
- WE – China, India, Hong Kong, Japan, Mexico, Brazil, Germany, Denmark, Netherlands, Belgium,
- UAE, Scotland, England, Spain, France, Austria
- CARE – Germany, Denmark, Netherlands, Belgium, UAE, Scotland, England, Spain, France, Austria
The VIBEs help all of our global Associates in a number of ways. These include holding panel discussions about relevant topics in our world today, informational campaigns about cultural holidays and observances, involvement in local community activities, and input on relevant marketing and communications.
But the most important thing that the VIBEs accomplish is providing a space for any Associate to feel heard and supported.
We thank all of our VIBE leaders, supporters, members and volunteers for making Shure a more inclusive place to work.
Women’s History Month and International Women’s Day celebrate the achievements of women around the world. Shure recognizes the accomplishments of our Associates every day, and in March, with a spotlight on the women of Shure as well as events and resources to amplify the female voice.
Through our global Women Everywhere (WE) Associate Resource Group, we encourage all Associates to wear the color purple on International Women’s Day on March 8. Wearing purple signifies justice, dignity, loyalty.
Each day, we are presented with opportunities to be inspired by and celebrate amazing women at work and in our lives. It has been said that we stand on the shoulders of our foremothers. Rather than simply stand on their shoulders, we strive together to lift them up. To lift each other up. To amplify their voices. To recognize them in our lives today and always.
