New Features

  • Software update improvements that allow the user to check for updates to IntelliMix Room software directly from the IntelliMix Room Tray Application
  • Acoustic Echo Cancellation (AEC) improvements that allow for the use of reinforcement systems with longer latencies, without causing AEC problems or audio artifacts
  • Addition of a “report a problem” button within the IntelliMix Room Tray Application that allows users to easily send diagnostic logs to Shure if needed
  • Support for the MXA710 linear array, MXN5-C Networked Loudspeaker, and MXA MUTE Network Button
  • Addition of some licensing command string properties
  • Support for Windows 10 version 2004 (Build 19041)
  • Addition of a licensing network interface (NIC) selection option during the installation process

Bug Fixes

  • PC I/O “None” selection was added to Designer Software as a configuration option for IntelliMix Room PC Input and Output
  • Resolved issues with the installation of the Virtual Audio Driver
  • Resolved issues where the IntelliMix Room Tray Application would not automatically run
  • Resolved an issue where changing the channel count of an installation did not reset the Dante output channel names
  • Resolved a Shure Audio Encryption issue where channels without established Dante audio routes displayed a "key error"
  • Improved localization of the IntelliMix Room Tray Application
  • Resolved an issue around changing the channel count of an activated IntelliMix Room instance.

Known Issues

  • The use of packet scanning security software may cause audio performance issues with IntelliMix Room.
  • Presets saved in IntelliMix V2.0 cannot be utilized with IntelliMix Room V1.0.
  • In order to transition from a trial license to a paid license before trial expiration, the IntelliMix Room endpoint must be deactivated and reactivated. Otherwise, the entire trial license term will be used before utilizing the paid license.
  • When using Dante Domain Manager (DDM) and the permissions configuration for the devicefor the device is set to “prevent”are set to read only or the DDM server is offline, you can still upgrade IntelliMix Room.
  • Changing the System Name of the host computer after installation of IntelliMix Room also changes the Dante Device name, as seen in Dante Controller. The Shure device name stays the same. This does not affect device performance and can be ignored.
  • Discovery of IntelliMix Room within Designer software can take up to 5 minutes if IntelliMix Room is restarted without internet access.
  • Ensure that the system/device name of the computer running IntelliMix Room is unique and abides by Microsoft’s recommendation of 15 characters or less. IntelliMix Room relies on this unique name for proper Shure and Dante network operation.
  • It’s been seen that IntelliMix Room can utilize more resources on specific computer models (Dell XPS Laptops)
  • Certain Bluetooth devices may not persist in the PC Input/Output device dropdown selection after a restart of the computer. Audio will still pass.
  • When using IntelliMix Room, Designer may show a red dot and invalid software version for that device after installation. Close and re-open Designer or reboot the machine running IntelliMix Room to fix the issue

      • Thailand: 748.300 - 757.700 MHz frequency band (Q12)

Known Issues

  • PSM1000 devices with firmware version 1.1.0 or earlier must use Shure Update Utility version 2.4.1 or older.
  • Version 2.4.1
  • Selecting "Help" > Check for Shure Update Utility updates" will open Shure.com, which offers the latest version of Shure Update Utility to download. Shure Update Utility version 2.4.2 or greater will not automatically detect new versions.
  • 32-Bit Windows:
    • To update Shure Update Utility version 2.2.2 or earlier on a 32-bit Windows system, download version 2.4.2 or greater for 32-bit systems to re-install the software. Older versions of Shure Update Utility will not detect new updates of Shure Update Utility that support 32-bit systems.
    • Shure Update Utility version 2.4.5 for 32-bit systems is compatible with Wireless Workbench 6 version 6.12.1 and earlier.
  • Attempts to download ULXD6/8 transmitter firmware to a ULX-D or QLX-D receiver that is not at the minimum firmware version, shown below, will fail. To update firmware for ULXD6/8 transmitters with ULX-D or QLX-D receivers:
    • Update receivers to the following minimum versions:
      • ULXD4, ULXD4D, ULXD4Q Receivers 2.1.16
      • QLXD4 Receivers 2.1.5
    • Using Shure Update Utility, download ULXD6/8 transmitter firmware to the receivers.
    • Using the FW Update menu on a receiver, update transmitters.
  • Microflex Wireless devices running version 1.X firmware must first be updated to version 2.0.5 before being updated to version 3.X or later.
  • USB-C MacBook Pro laptops with the Touch Bar running macOS High Sierra, Mojave, and Catalina will fail to discover GLX-D devices. We are currently investigating this issue.

Notes

  • Shure Update Utility is supported on the following operating systems:
    • Windows 7, 8 and 10
    • macOS High Sierra (10.13), Mojave (10.14), and Catalina (10.15)
  • Installing Shure Update Utility on Windows will also prompt the installation of a USB driver, which must be installed to support updating USB devices, such as GLX-D.
  • USB 2.0 Devices
    • KSE1500, SHA900, and GLX-D must be updated one-at-a-time.
    • USB hubs are not recommended when updating USB 2.0 connected devices. Always connect these devices directly to a USB on the computer running Shure Update Utility.
  • Shure Update Utility 2.4.2 or greater for 64-bit systems is compatible with Wireless Workbench 6.12.2 or later.
  • Shure Update Utility 2.4.2 or greater for 32-bit systems is compatible with Wireless Workbench 6.12 or earlier.

Important

  • Before upgrading Designer versions, it’s recommended to export project files to back them up.
  • If you encounter an installer failure during upgrade, allow the uninstaller to finish, then restart installation
  • When upgrading Designer versions, the installer may prompt that the destination folder is not empty; please change the folder name or delete the existing folder and it will automatically be re-created during the upgrade.
  • If opening Designer in the first few minutes after starting the system or plugging into a new network, devices may not be discovered; close Designer, and open it when the NIC has finished identifying.
  • In order to push from virtual devices to online devices, or vice versa, the virtual device and online version must be on the same version. For example, all new virtual devices created in Designer 4.2 are on version 4.2.X; those virtual devices can only be associated with online devices that are also on version 4.2.X.
  • Designer 4.2 is not backwards compatible with earlier versions of Designer. The database will not be maintained upon downgrading, and Designer 4.2 files cannot be imported into earlier versions of Designer.

Improvements

  • Support for new products:
    • MXA710 Linear Array Microphone
    • MXN5-C Networked Loudspeaker
    • MXA Network Mute Button
  • Support for new firmware versions
  • Optimize feature for routing, optimal audio settings, and mute synchronization in one button
  • Firmware updating for all supported devices, excluding IMX-Room, on the same subnet and cross-subnet
  • Overlay device windows with option to undock to new windows
  • Coverage map layers and channel selector
  • Performance improvements
  • Bug fixes

Known Issues

  • Management of both individual and location presets are now for online devices only; virtual devices' presets can no longer be exported in this version; we recommend using Designer project files to share work done offline.
  • With more than 20 devices in location or 60 on the network, some actions will take longer due to increased network traffic.
  • When using IntelliMix Room, Designer may show a red dot and invalid software version for that device after installation. Close and re-open Designer or reboot the machine running IntelliMix Room to fix the issue.
  • When importing a Designer preset file into the MXA910 web application, attempts to immediately export that file out of the web application will fail if it is not first loaded and saved to the MXA910.
  • When typing in certain fields, the value may be overwritten if not entered quickly.
  • When soloing a channel on an MXA310, all channels will show as gated on.
  • When configuring a single MXA910, rotation of the device will only appear in Location > Coverage Map; go to the location to view the rotated device.
  • When one or more devices in a location are locked by Dante Domain Manager or Dante Device Lock, operations that affect Dante settings may be unreliable, such as audio routing, pushing virtual to online devices, or enabling audio encryption.
  • Changing EQ Contour on the MXA710 does not affect active preset indication.
  • Changing channel count of virtual IMX-Room device does not reset audio settings.
  • When disassociating online devices from virtual devices multiple times, Optimize may not create expected routes; add new virtual devices and Optimize.
  • Indications that show on the bottom of the Coverage map page may persist longer than expected.
  • Forgetting a cross-subnet MXA910 on firmware version 4.1.41 may result in the device being rediscovered; close and re-open Designer or reboot device to see it as forgotten.
  • When factory resetting a device from Online Devices > Device window, then attempting to add that device to a Location that’s already open and initializing it, the Location and Device window will close; reopen to continue working
  • The uninstaller for Designer is not signed.
  • Users with Astrill VPN installed will not be able to launch the app successfully; contact Shure support for help.
