Municipal Authorities in Luxembourg Adapt to Unusual Meeting Spaces with Microflex® Complete Wireless Digital Conference System
The health crisis in Luxembourg has generated a real explosion in the conference market, opening up new perspectives for public institutions, which, like the municipal administrations of Mersch and Steinfort, had to force themselves into action in order to be able to hold remote meetings and events in unusual environments: performance halls, stadiums, gymnasiums, concert halls, etc.
Originally, most town council rooms were not equipped with conference systems, until this new context forced town councils to move to larger rooms, with the same number of people.
How to speak for an hour without risking the loss of voices and maintaining spontaneity when the distance between the interlocutors had suddenly increased?
The first municipal councils to be held in the era of social distancing saw the proliferation of makeshift installations, hastily tinkered with wired microphones. These alternative solutions made it possible to record sessions at a minimum. Except that none of the participants really appreciated the scale of the issues in terms of the quality of speaking and listening.
Because if, before the pandemic, it was easy to speak to ten around a table in a small meeting room of 15 sqm, having to speak overnight in a space of 200 sqm in front of 15 people, each standing two meters apart, turned out to be much more complex.
Not to mention the ease of use deemed essential for participants and speakers. As the city council members were not technicians, they needed to be able to control the essential functions of the equipment, whether it was the control of open channels or the automatic channel mute function.
Thanks to the responsiveness of LEMON Event Support, which approached the Shure teams, a powerful, easy-to-deploy and simple-to-use solution was found: the Microflex® Complete Wireless (MXCW) Digital Conference System.
When institutions suddenly found themselves having to speak in unusual room configurations, the Shure MXCW proved to be truly the most flexible and scalable wireless system available.
The adoption of these new wireless technologies has opened up unprecedented opportunities without any desire to turn back the clock.
- Intelligibility despite distance constraints.
- Ease of use.
- Acoustic optimization whether in a large or small room.
“The Steinfort municipal council was forced to temporarily move to a larger room to comply with health instructions and distancing measures. LEMON Event Support urgently provided us with a technical solution guaranteeing a high level of speech intelligibility, as well as easy integration into a videoconferencing system for our elected officials who had to follow the sessions from their homes.”
-- Diane Stockreiser, Municipal Secretary, Municipal Administration of Steinfort
“In the end, many of our customers who have rented the Shure MXCW system, whether in a gymnasium or a performance hall, wanted to keep it when they returned to their communal room to optimize the acoustics, after being aware of all the technical possibilities from which they could benefit. They realized the importance of bringing to their community hall this audio quality that they were able to experience in unprecedented conditions. ”
