Challenge
AV Media needed a new audio solution for their meeting rooms. The rooms are used for both video conference calls and demonstrations to end-customers, showcasing their VC solutions in real-life. Their capacity is between 8 to 20 people.
The solution was aimed at the Boardroom and Flexi Room, which are connected to each other with a mobile wall. The Boardroom can be used either alone or with the Flexi Room for meetings, presentations and videoconferences. By using the mobile wall, teams can work independently on interactive displays and share content. Therefore, an audio solution that would allow the rooms to be used together or separately with the same audio quality was required. Additionally, AV Media required a solution that permits staff to move around freely in the room while still having their voices picked up clearly.
Solution
One MXA910 was installed in each room. All 8 lobes from each MXA910 were sent to a single BSS Processor with AEC. It was programmed to allow the rooms to be used in a combined boardroom setting for up to 20 people, or to be divided into 2 separate rooms with an MXA910 in each. This is enabled by each room having a dedicated microphone.
The Boardroom is connected to the Cisco SX80 Conference, Webex and Microsoft Teams. Audinate’s AVIO Dante-USB interface allows the MXA910s to be used for virtual meetings with either a laptop or the dedicated PC.
AV Media also installed other competitive ceiling and table microphones in order to show a direct comparison with the MXA910 to their customers both face to face and virtually. This way, they can showcase the difference between a conference call with common noise-cancelling microphones and MXA910.
Advantages
The new setup improved the communication between AV Media and their customers by ensuring excellent audio quality in meetings. AV Media now has multiple ways of using the area that can be tailored to different types of events, activities and meetings.
“It is a great inspiration for our customers to see how people should work together and communicate with each other.” added David Jakubec, Product Manager at AV Media.
