Cuvry Campus Berlin – Modern, hybrid conferencing technology thanks to Shure MXA

After five years of construction, the "Cuvry Campus" has now opened in Berlin, located near the Oberbaum Bridge and directly on the Spree River. The premises in the new seven-storey building have been used by various companies as office space for conferences and other day-to-day business since April 2021.

Challenge

The conferencing technology in 17 different rooms over five floors of a large bank's offices needed to provide the highest possible sound quality and outstanding speech intelligibility. The aim was to integrate the technology inconspicuously into the interior to maintain an uncluttered appearance. Of course, the requirements for future hybrid working also played a major role.

DetailKLANG Mediensysteme GmbH took over the consulting, planning and installation on site for this project.

Solution

The firm installed a total of 21 permanent table and ceiling microphones to provide optimal coverage of all rooms. The MXA310 table microphones were particularly easy to integrate and set up on the conference tables. In the open-plan areas, the choice went to the MXA710 linear array microphones, which can be mounted on the ceiling regardless of the placement of the tables and chairs. All AV equipment used is linked to Zoom meeting software and controls have been installed everywhere to operate the conferences

Thanks to the interplay of Shure audio technology with Clevertouch interactive touch screens, classic Samsung screens as well as Harmonic Design soundbars, users in the office and employees at home office can now implement projects together much more easily.

In the Arena, a multifunctional space suitable not only for large meetings but also for presentations and live broadcasts, additional projectors and screens have been deployed for this purpose.

Advantages

In addition to the high sound quality of the Shure microphones used, this solution also offers particularly simple operation and a nice feel. Zoom certification for the MXA310 and compatibility with the MXA710 allows staff to start or attend meetings independently, whether from home or at the office.

Another advantage is the extremely slim design of the small table microphones. As there are no exposed cables, the conference rooms always look tidy. The linear array microphone offers complete independence from any furniture, as it can be easily integrated into the ceiling or wall.
