ShurePlus MOTIV iOS Release Notes

Apple iOS

Version: 2.5.3

Release Date: 2/19/2019

Improvements

  • Bug fixes

Known Issues

  • A small percentage of users may receive a numerical error message while recording, such as “-1” or “66570.” These messages occur when there was an error writing to the device and are related to Apple’s new file system (APFS). One of these errors can occur even if your device has plenty of remaining storage. We recommend clearing up your device storage in Settings > General > iPhone Storage, and if that doesn’t resolve the issue, doing a factory reset, consisting of backing up your device, restoring to factory settings, and restoring from the backup.
  • If you monitor your recordings with Bluetooth earphones, you may hear artifacts, such as noise, while monitoring. If this occurs, we recommend changing the sample rate of your recordings. Some products may produce artifacts at 44.1 kHz, while others may do so for 48 kHz recordings. Please keep in mind that even if you hear artifacts while monitoring, they will not be present in the recordings themselves.

Version: 2.1.4

Release Date: 1/22/2018

Improvements

  • Visual improvements for iPhone X
  • Bug fixes

Known Issues

  • Some users of iPhone 8 or iPhone X may experience silence or noisy artifacts on their recordings. These are due to an issue that was introduced with the release of these phone models in November, 2017. Until issues with how these devices communicate with USB microphones are fixed by Apple, we’re unable to resolve this. We have reported this problem to Apple and are working with them to find a solution.
  • In iOS 11.0, the iPhone would not always recognize when an MV88 microphone was connected. If you are experiencing this issue, please upgrade to iOS version 11.1 or higher.

Notes

Version: 2.1.3

Release Date: 9/16/2017

Improvements

  • iOS 11 compatibility
  • Bug fixes

Known Issues

  • There may be isolated incidents where the app freezes or loses connection to the microphone in iOS 11, especially if you leave the app or lock your phone with the mic connected, then reopen it. If this happens, force-close the app and unplug and re-plug the microphone.
  • If you switch to another app by double-tapping the home button, your mic gain may change. We recommend switching between apps by single-tapping the home button and then opening the other app.
  • We advise against using Apple AirPods Bluetooth headphones to monitor recordings, as this can lead to changes in mic gain or unwanted noise on the recording.
