IMPROVEMENT

  • Added new frequency band Z16 (1240 – 1260 MHz) for Japan

NOTES

  • Fixed bug relating to encryption mismatch conditions.
  • Fixed IR LED behavior when firmware updating transmitters.

Posted January 30, 2014

NEW FEATURES

  • Optional Encryption Enhancement
    • On (Auto): Functions the same as all previous versions of ULX-D where there is a new key generated on each sync.
    • On (Manual): New function to support multiple transmitters; useful for situations such as a combo system that needs to be encrypted and have two transmitters ready to use with one receiver.
      • On (Manual): Issues the same key on every sync so you can easily have multiple transmitters (handheld and/or bodypack) synced and ready to use with one receiver.
      • Regenerate Keys: This allows the user of manual mode to ask the receiver to create a new 256 bit encryption key.  Note that it is required to sync transmitters to ge the new key.

Posted July 03, 2013

NEW FEATURES

  • Receiver Mute
    • Previously, receiver channels could be muted from Wireless Workbench amd not on device.  Mute on/off capability has been added to the device within the AUDIO menu.  Receiver mute for a channel can also be disengaged via a two-button combination push of the up/down gain arrows of that channel.
    • When "Rx Mute" has been engaged, the ability to adjust system gain is disabled.  Receiver channels must be unmuted in order to adjust system gain.
    • Muting of a receiver channel is non-persistent (i.e. all channels with "Rx Mute" engaged will no longer be muted after the device is power-cycled).
  • Device Gateway Address
    • ULX-D receiver's gateway address can now be set to allow for cross-subnet control and monitoring of the receiver with 3rd party control surfaces.
    • NOTE: Wireless Workbench does not function across different subnets.  This feature is for 3rd party control surfaces only.
  • Hardware Identification in Wireless Workbench
    • Enables the user to trigger a flashing sequence from the physical device to locate the Wireless Workbench representation of that device in the software.

IMPROVEMENTS

  • Added support for the X51 frequency band for use in Korea

IMPROVEMENT

  • Added new frequency band Z16 (1240 – 1260 MHz) for Japan

NOTES

  • Fixed bug relating to encryption mismatch conditions.
  • Fixed IR LED behavior when firmware updating transmitters.
  • Transmitters to be used with receivers must be updated via IR.  After the receiver is updated, follow these steps:
    1. Go to the receiver menu: DEVICE UTILITIES > TX FW UPDATE

  • Minor UI text changes for consistency across wireless lines and in Wireless Workbench.

NOTES

  • For operation of ULX-D devices with other Shure networked systems, see the following list of minimum firmware versions that are supported with ULX-D version 1.3.6:

ULXD4D - Dual Channel Digital Wireless Receiver (1.4.18) See release notes

Posted April 07, 2014

IMPROVEMENTS

  • Interference Alert Accuracy Improvement
    • In some situations previous versions of ULX-D could falsely report Interference Alerts when interference was not actually present.  This firmware release removes false reporting, but retains the ability to alert the user if interference was the reason why a particluar setup lost RF signal.

NOTES

  • For operation of ULX-D devices with other Shure networked systems, see the following list of minimum firmware versions that are supported with ULX-D version 1.4.18:
    • ULXD1/2 ULX-D Transmitters 1.4.18
    • ULXD4, ULXD4D, ULXD4Q ULX-D Receivers 1.4.18
    • UHF-R Receivers: 1.168
    • PSM1000 Transmitters: 1.3.9
    • AXT400 Axient Receiver 1.14.6

900 MHz ISM

ULXD1/2 - 900 MHz ISM Wireless Transmitter (1.6.10) See release notes

Posted August 10, 2015

IMPROVEMENTS

  • Added new frequency bands:
    • Americas (except Brazil): X52: 902-928 MHz
    • Brazil: X53: 902-907.5, 915-928 MHz
    • Australia: X54: 915-928 MHz

NOTES

  • Transmitters to be used with receivers must be updated via IR. After the receiver is updated, follow these steps:
    1. Go to the receiver menu: DEVICE UTILITIES > TX FW UPDATE
    2. Align the infrared ports with the transmitter
    3. Press ENTER.
  • When updating transmitter firmware via IR sync, please use caution to not lose IR connection, as it’s possible in rare occasions for upgrades from 1.5.6 or earlier to 1.6.7 or later to cause transmitters to temporarily become non-responsive. If the update fails and the unit is non-responsive, resolve the issue by following these steps:
    1. Using the Shure Update Utility, downgrade the firmware for the ULXD4/ULXD4D/ULXD4Q Receiver to 1.5.6 AND keep the desired transmitter firmware (1.6.7 or latest version).
    2. Update the transmitter firmware to 1.6.7 or the latest version via IR menu. From the receiver menu: DEVICE UTILITIES > TX FW UPDATE. Align the infrared ports with the transmitter and then press ENTER.
    3. Upgrade receiver to 1.6.7 or latest version.
  • For operation of ULX-D devices with other Shure networked systems, see the following list of minimum firmware versions that are supported with ULX-D version 1.6.10:
    • QLX-D receiver 1.0.15
    • UHF-R receiver 1.171
