All-in-One, Job Done: MXW neXt 2 Delivers Convenient Wireless Audio

Chris Lyons | January 17, 2024 All-in-One, Job Done: MXW neXt 2 Delivers Convenient Wireless Audio

What’s New:

  • All-in-one dual-channel wireless microphone solution for hybrid classrooms, training rooms, and lecture halls
  • Tabletop transceiver includes drop-in charging station
  • IntelliMix DSP with automatic mixing, echo cancellation, and noise reduction
  • Send mic & program audio to remote participants, room loudspeakers, or both via analog, Dante, or USB-C connections

Whether it’s a presentation, team conference, or university lecture, it seems like every gathering includes a mix of local and remote participants.  Delivering flawless audio for the people in the room and those joining remotely isn’t always easy. Accommodating a moving presenter and audience Q and A makes it even more of a challenge.

The Microflex MXW neXt 2 wireless microphone system is the next step in audio for hybrid events.  It’s an all-in-one wireless microphone system for meeting rooms, hybrid classrooms, and training spaces that provides superior audio for the people in the room and those joining remotely.

MXW neXt 2 is the only two-channel wireless microphone system with a combined receiver, charger, and IntelliMix DSP

The MXWAPXD2 Access Point Transceiver has integrated charging slots and IntelliMix DSP.  (Bluetooth functionality not currently available.)

The Microflex Wireless neXt 2 is the only two-channel wireless microphone system with a combined receiver, charger, and IntelliMix DSP.  The MXWAPXD2 Access Point Transceiver sits inconspicuously on a tabletop and handles wireless transmission and reception, charging, automatic mixing, DSP, and signal routing.  It even includes Automatic Frequency Management, so there’s no complicated wireless configuration to worry about either.  Unlike most wireless microphone systems, MXW neXt 2 finds open channels in the 1.9 GHz DECT band automatically and changes channels to avoid interference without interrupting the audio.

MXW1X Bodypack Transmitter with information display and programmable mute button

MXW neXt 2 lets you select any two microphone transmitters that meet your needs.  The MXW1X bodypack transmitter is compatible with popular Shure lavalier microphones that let presenters keep their hands free.  The MXW2X handheld transmitter is perfect for passing around for audience Q and A or for presenters who prefer to hold the microphone.  The MXW6X boundary transmitter can be placed on a table or desktop to pick up a seated participant.

The microphones drop into charging slots in the transceiver at the end of the day so they’re always ready to use.  Bodypack and boundary microphones run for up to 17 hours on a full charge, and handheld microphones run for up to 28 hours.  An information screen on each microphone displays battery time remaining, the room name, and more.

The transceiver includes analog, Dante, and USB-C interfaces for easy connection to a computer, sound system, and videoconferencing codec.  You can send mic audio to the remote participants only (for conferences), to the room loudspeakers (for presentations), or both (for hybrid meetings).

Analog, Dante, and USB-C interfaces enable connection to a computer, sound system, and videoconferencing codec

MXW neXt 2 also has features that make it convenient for users in corporate, education, and government settings.

  • An out-of-range alert reminds the user to return the microphone to the charging station.
  • Always-on AES-256 encryption provides enhanced privacy for your meeting audio.
  • The mute button on each transmitter can control one or both microphones, or they can be remotely muted and unmuted by your room control system.
  • The power switch can be defeated to prevent accidental powering off; the transmitter goes to sleep when placed in the charging slot and wakes up when removed.

The MXW NeXt 2 integrated wireless system is the next step in audio for hybrid events in corporate and higher education meeting spaces.  It’s all-in-one and job done.
