Question:
Why is the VP88 called a "Stereo microphone"?
Answer:

The output of VP88 microphone is two separate, distinct signals: a left channel and a right channel. This signal is provided via a five pin XLR connector located at the end of the VP88.
You may use one VP88 microphone and record directly to a stereo tape machine. The VP88 will deliver a left channel signal to the left input of the recorder, and a right channel signal to the right input of the recorder.
