Transformer for Les Paul Recording Guitar

Date Updated: October 24, 2008 FAQ #2849
From 69 to 73 Gibson made the Les Paul Professional guitar to his specs, utilizing low impedence pick ups,to go into a recording desk, for cleanest sounds. However to use into high impedence guitar amps, they supplied a lead with a transformer at amp end. This looked like the SHURE product for microphone low to high with gibson logo substituted.

Look at the Shure A95UF and A95U transformers.  The voltage gain is about 20 dB for either unit.
