No devices showing in Web Discovery App

Date Updated: October 7, 2019 FAQ #5893
Question:
None of my devices appear in Shure Web Device Discovery. How do I fix this?
Answer:

Shure Web Device Discovery uses Bonjour to locate and display Shure devices with a browser-based user interface. Note that some Shure devices including many of our wireless microphone systems (including Axient Digital, ULX-D, QLX-D, Axient Analog, and UHF-R) will only appear in Wireless Workbench.

When no devices appear in Shure Web Device Discovery, follow these steps to troubleshoot the issue

  1. Ensure that your network switch is not on the Shure or Audinate disqualified lists:
  2. Check physical connections.
    1. Ensure your PC is connected to the same network as the Shure equipment, and that it has an IP Address in the same range as the Shure equipment. For example, PC IP address: 192.168.1.23; Shure device control IP address: 192.168.1.54.
    2. Ensure the link light next to the ethernet jack is illuminated.
    3. Try a different ethernet cable.
  3. Restart the Bonjour Service in Windows Services.
    1. To do this, go to the Start menu, type "services.msc" and hit Enter or click the Services app.
    2. Find Bonjour in the list, and click Restart or Start (depending on the options you are presented with).
    3. If Bonjour does not appear, download "Bonjour Print Services for Windows" from here and install it.
  4. Plug directly into the Shure equipment you want to discover, using a gigabit PoE injector if needed. If the equipment appears, there is a problem with the network switch's configuration. Refer to FAQ 5423 for more information on how to properly configure the switch. In particular, ensure that unregistered multicast traffic is permitted on the switch.
  5. Try another PC, preferably with a different security profile. If it still won't appear, then contact Shure Applications Engineering for further assistance.
