The Regional Assembly of Murcia in Spain Chooses Microflex® Complete Wireless to Support Social Distancing Measures
Customer Profile
The Murcia Regional Assembly is the autonomous parliament of the Region of Murcia in Spain, with headquarters located in the Murcian city of Cartagena. Due to the safety and social distancing measures recommended by the health authorities, they decided to adapt the Patio de los Ayuntamientos for holding the plenary sessions of the assembly.
Challenge
The Assembly’s technical department required a wireless discussion system with a long battery life. Additionally, the system would need to offer functions such as voting, interpretation and ideally be able to offer an encrypted audio signal with flexibility to cover a variety of needs and uses.
Solution
The Cartagena-based system integrator Castellini Audiovisuales and the official Shure Distributor EarPro, chose the Shure Microflex Complete Wireless (MXCW) system as the ideal solution. The installation consisted of 30 units, some of the features includes a smart SB930 lithium-ion rechargeable battery that powers the conference unit and has an extended battery life. The system also includes an AES-128 encrypted audio signal that guarantees security and audio privacy. The MXCW features a voting function with different configurations and allows external mobile devices to be connected into the unit. Another feature of the system is its capacity to work with up to 8 channels of simultaneous interpretation.
The MXCW640 Wireless Conference Unit can be configured into “chairman”, “delegate”, “dual delegate” or “interpreter” roles, and is equipped with a 4.3″ colour touch screen making it a highly intuitive system. An integrated battery level indicator allows you to quickly check the battery status, powering up each unit for over 11 hours at a time without needing to be charged. There are also different gooseneck microphone options available with three-colour LED, in different lengths and with interchangeable cartridges.
The MXCWAPT access point includes balanced analogue audio input and output XLR connectors, as well as 10 inputs and 10 outputs over a Dante Audio Network. They are all completely configurable due to their internal matrix and connection by a single Ethernet cable that processes the control, audio and power supply.
Advantages
With the MXCW system, the institution can now guarantee that all members of the assembly can continue their activities safely and attend the plenary sessions in person.
“The MXCW system is the result of the ongoing evolution in radio transmission of audio signals by SHURE, one of the world’s leading companies in wireless microphones”, explained José Moreno, Install Key Account Manager at EARPRO. “Meanwhile, the MXCW delegate microphone system has established its position as one of the leading wireless systems for debates and conferences” he concluded.
