Notes

  • To install Q5X firmware on devices:
    1. Download Q5X firmware from Shure Update Utility
    2. Connect to the AD4D, AD4Q, or ADX5D receiver, and in the Hosted Tx section, select Q5XTx 1.2.56
    3. Send the update to the receiver
    4. Use IR Sync to update the transmitter firmware
  • AD4D and AD4Q can only host one transmitter firmware image at a time; if you also need to update Axient Digital transmitters, please repeat the above process, but select an ADTx firmware version.
  • To operate this version of Q5X with Shure systems and software, see the following list of recommended versions:
    • Axient Digital Receivers 1.4.15
    • ADX5D 1.4.15
    • Shure Update Utility 2.8.4

    • Workaround: Set transmitter Power = ON before performing the firmware update

  • To install Q5X firmware on devices:
    1. Download Q5X 1.2.56 firmware from Shure Update Utility (user guide)
    2. Connect to the AD4D, AD4Q, or ADX5D receiver, and in the Hosted Tx section, select Q5XTx 1.2.56
    3. Send the update to the receiver

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed an issue where some transmitters receive repeated RCAS command messages
  • Fixed an issue where Axient Digital receivers would erroneously show a “?” battery status for Q5X transmitters
  • Fixed an issue where Axient Digital receivers would incorrectly report Q5X transmitter audio as “Unknown”

Known Issues

  • AD4 receivers indicate “Ready” status for a transmitter firmware update while the transmitter is in Standby mode, but the update will immediately fail.
  • IR Sync may fail while loading custom groups to Q5X transmitters
  • When operating Wireless Workbench or ShurePlus Channels, some labels and icons for Q5X transmitters may be missing

Known Issues

  • AD4 receivers indicate “Ready” status for a transmitter firmware update while the transmitter is in Standby mode, but the update will immediately fail.
  • In the Device and Channel Home menus, AD4 receivers will erroneously show a “?” battery status for Q5X transmitters. To see the accurate battery level, go to the “Transmitter Details” menu.
  • In “Transmitter Details,” AD4 receivers incorrectly report Q5X transmitter audio as “Unknown” rather than On or Mute
  • IR Sync may fail while loading custom groups to Q5X transmitters
