Domenica

Domenica is a heavy grunge rock band with modern undertones, that started in Western Canada in 2004.

Since then, the band has toured Canada and the USA relentlessly, expanding their North American reach. In 2008, this reach extended to Germany and the UK, where Domenica performed at the Popkomm and Musexpo Europe festivals.

Shortly thereafter, Domenica hit Matt Sorum's (Guns n' Roses/Velvet Revolver) private Hollywood, CA studio to record their debut CD. Marcos Curiel (P.O.D.) had crossed paths with singer/songwriter/guitarist Bekki Friesen, and was keen on lending a creative hand as well. Together, Marcos and Bekki co-wrote 3 songs on Domenica's debut studio recording, The Luxury.

On 09/09/09, The Luxury was released in Japan. A fervent public reception followed. Features in glossy hard rock magazines, video spins, and an undeniable buzz, brought Domenica the first of their several global successes to date. The Luxury was ranked HMV Japan's No.1 album pick on 2 separate occasions. The song "What Goes Around", (one of the 3 co-written by Bekki and Marcos) was chosen by Burrn! Magazine's editor in chief as one of the top 10 hard rock/metal songs of 2009 (Japan's 'Rolling Stone' equivalent).September tour dates are in the works

Following their Canadian release (09/15/09), Domenica’s single ‘Above Me’ achieved heavy radio and video rotation in Canada on both active rock and alternative rock radio formats. A heavy tour schedule was locked in, and the band promoted this release coast to coast for several months.

More recently, The Luxury has been released in Australia (04/09/10), where the video has already been piked up in to rotation on RAGE. On a pre-release trip, singer/songwriter/guitarist Bekki Friesen was invited to the country's largest rock station (Triple M, Sydney) for a live acoustic performance and interview.

The Germany/Austria/Switzerland release was 4/23/10, and Domenica's single 'Above Me' stormed onto the Metal/Rock 30 charts. The band followed up ith a European tour shortly thereafter.

2010 plans involve a Canadian tour with Danko Jones, a tour throughout Germany, a Canadian tour with Hail The Villain, the Rock n' Roll Revolution festival tour throughout Australia, stadium shows in Canada with Stone Temple Pilots, Buckcherry, Three Days Grace, Godsmack and FInger 11, a major tour through Japan, more European dates, and a US tour. Additionally, the band plans to begin their 2nd studio recording.
