Shure And AWAL Team Up For A Limited Live Streaming Series Titled: NextSound Sessions

Fans Can Listen and Interact with the Hottest Up-and-Coming Artists From the Comforts of Home

December 10, 2020

CHICAGO, December 10, 2020With recent recommendations to stay home, music lovers can find it difficult to experience concerts around the holidays. Shure has partnered with AWAL, which represents some of the hottest and most exciting independent artists from around the world, to help bring additional musical joy this holiday season with a series of free weekly virtual, live streaming concerts. For six weeks, four artists will each perform a 15 minute set for NextSound Sessions. The second session will air this Saturday, December 12, 2020 at 1 p.m. CT and will be streamed globally. Fans can listen to performances from the first session here on MixCloud.

All live-streamed concerts will be hosted via Gramrphone, a free-to-use live streaming platform that offers a high-quality audio listening experience for artists and fans. With no ticket required, listeners simply click on the link to listen and interact with artists and other fans.

"This year has severely impacted the way we experience live performances,” said Brooke Giddens, Head of Artist Marketing at Shure. “We partnered with AWAL and Gramrphone on this limited concert series to feature 24 diverse artists from around the world. We hope to bring enjoyment into people’s homes and introduce them to new artists who they will want to add to their playlist.”

AWAL artists participating include Palmaria, Kelli-Leigh, DijahSB, Oscar Scheller, Sans Soucis, Godblesscomputers, maxime., Dhruv Visvanath, Diamond La Mafia, Marie Dahlstrom, Boy Willows, and Happi.

Paul Hitchman, President of AWAL, said, “In these unprecedented times innovation is needed more than ever to help artists reach new audiences for their music. We are therefore delighted to partner with Shure and Gramrphone, who are both leaders in their fields, to bring new opportunities to AWAL’s community of artists.”

All artists will perform on Shure’s new MV7 Microphone tailored for home recording, vocalists, podcasters, and gamers. Launched earlier this fall, the MV7 microphone is equipped with Voice Isolation Technology which means it’s laser-focused on the performers voice, producing a professional recording without any background or room noise. This dynamic microphone is inspired by the legendary Shure SM7B microphone and offers both USB and XLR outputs for use with computers and professional interfaces alike.

To accurately monitor their performances in real-time, artists will use Shure AONIC 50 Wireless Noise Cancelling Headphones, unveiled earlier this year. Engineered with decades of professional audio experience, AONIC 50 delivers premium, wireless studio-quality sound with exceptional comfort and durability. Equipped with adjustable noise cancellation, users can easily block distractions for an immersive experience with the flip of a switch.

The limited series concerts run through January 23, 2021. Live sessions will be recorded and uploaded on Shure’s MixCloud page. For more information on NextSound Session and how to listen live, visit https://www.shure.com/en-US/meta/nextsoundsessions.
