My ULX-J1 wireless system started to act up recently. It is operating on 578 MHz, and I am in a suburb of Chicago. Any ideas?
A new DTV station started broadcasting in late April 2011. The call letters are WMEU, TV channel 32 (578 to 584 MHz), and it is a low power station transmitting 15 kW ERP from the Willis (Sears) Tower. Their signal strength in the western suburbs, where observations have been taken, is surprisingly strong. The WMEU analog transmitter on TV channel 48 is now off the air.
This new DTV 32 station may affect these Shure wireless systems: UHF-R in the J5 band; UHF in the J4 band; ULX in the J1 band; SLX in the J3 band; PGX in the J6 band.
Also, there is a very weak DTV signal on TV channel 33 (584 - 590 MHz). This may be WCHU as there is a construction permit for this channel.
For the ULX-J1 band, only TV channel 28 (554 - 560 MHz) remains officially vacant in Chicago as of May 2011.
