T4N into AUX of general amplifier - very low sound levels

FAQ #734 Updated August 08, 2007

Question:

When I take the output through a splitter to get into both channels of a regular home amplifier, the sound levels are really low. All the gains are set high, and the audio peak flashes occasionally. Should I be putting it through some pre-amp to use the AUX input?

Answer:

The T4N has a microphone level output. It must be plugged into a microphone input. To plug the T4N into a hi fi amplifier, you must go through some type of mic-to-line preamp.
