I use a PSM 1000 unit, can I use a P9R or P9RA in lieu of the P10R? What are the disadvantages of doing so?
Yes - the P9R and P9RA beltpack receivers are compatible with the P10T transmitters. Here are the things to be aware of when intermixing product lines:
1. The P10T tuning range is 72 MHz, while the P9 series is 36 MHz. When using a P9R series bodypack receiver with a P10T transmitter, be sure its frequency range overlaps that of the P10T. The frequency ranges are listed below.
P10T U.S. Frequencies P9R U.S. Frequencies
G10 (470-542 MHz) G6 (470-506 MHz); G7 (506-542 MHz)
J8 (554-626 MHz) K1 (596-632 MHz)**
L8 (626-698 MHz) L6 (656-692 MHz)
** Note that the P9R/P9RA K1 range does not exactly overlap the corresponding P10T J8 range.
2. The P9R series receivers utilize a single receiving antenna compared to the P10R receiver which features diversity reception with two antennas. The P9R series may be slightly more susceptible to experiencing an occasional signal dropout.
