Regarding: MX 184 & MX 185 Lavalier microphones
MX184 & MX185 are condensor microphone which need phantom power (i.e. in-line 12VDC along the signal conductor) to operate. Phantom power usually supply from some professional audio equipment such as mixer.
I require some more information before I contact your local supplier for a quote.
The MX184 & MX185 user guide on your website states that these microphones are supplied with an inline preamplifier (RK100PK).
A battery powered preamplifier is listed as an optional accessory (MX1BP).
Do we need to purchase the battery powered preamp?
We will be using the microphone in a system to analyse wood properties. The microphone is connected to a filter, which is connected to an oscilloscope, which is connected to a computer.

For your application, you need the MX1BP since your oscilloscope will not sent out phantom power . MX1BP allow you to use battery to power up the MX184 & MX185 .
