Low modulation 590T mic to Midland radio

FAQ #311 Updated July 31, 2007

Question:

Is there a resistor I have to remove on a Midland 70-1336B radio to get the modulation where it needs to be?

Answer:

Our notes indicate that when using the 590T microphone with the ALM5 cordset with a Midland Syntech 1 or XTR that the 270 ohm resistor inside the radio needs to be changed to a 1200 ohm resistor. If your Midland radio has this same type of input, then you should perform this same modification. Also, don't forget that the 590T has a screwdriver adjustable gain on it.
