Recommendation

Update all Axient devices in a configuration to the same firmware version.

Improvements

  • Support for new U.S. frequency bands:
    • 578 MHz – 608 MHz (J5A)

NEW FEATURES

  • Hold Audio Overload indicators on front panel metering
    • Optional feature available in receiver Audio settings. Holds the red LED indicator on after an overload event so that it can be identified on the front panel meters after the condition has ended
    • Residual Overload indicators can be cleared from the front panel with the following key combination: ENTER + AUDIO on the home screen menu for the channel that had an overload.
    • Indicators can also be cleared from WWB6.
  • Extended range of receiver Squelch setting, the selectable range is -20 to +10 (previously -10 to +10). Lower settings allow for increased operating range without squelch muting when operating on frequencies with low RF noise.
  • Hardware Identification in WWB6
    • Enables the user to trigger a flashing sequence from the physical device to locate the Wireless Workbench 6 representation of that device in the software.
    • To engage, quickly tap the power button on the transmitter.

IMPROVEMENTS

  • AXT400 B receiver supports new transmitter bands including J5HK, G12, and H12
  • Calibration of front panel display, may optimize contrast on some units

NOTES

  • For operation of Axient devices with other Shure networked systems, see the following list of minimum firmware versions that are supported with Axient version 1.11.14:
    • UR4 UHF-R receiver 1.166
    • UR3 Plug-on Transmitter 1.0.0.9

October 3, 2012

NEW FEATURES

  • Tone key selection options to allow only Axient or only UHF-R transmitters for receiver audio
    • Additional options to protect the receiver from unintended transmitters
    • Default Tone Key setting automatically detects Axient or UHF-R tone key to activate the corresponding audio scheme
    • In Frequency Diversity – Bodypack mode, the receiver selects away from a radio channel receiving the wrong tone key
  • In Ear Monitor signal detection
    • The receiver can identify signals from In Ear monitor transmitters, triggering Interference Detection and Avoidance even in FM capture scenarios where the IEM carrier is much stronger than the desired signal
    • Alerts in ‘Prompt’ Interference Detection mode indicate that the interfering signal is from an IEM system
    • Detects all Shure and most competitive IEM systems

IMPROVEMENTS

  • Confirmation for interference-prompted frequency switches when transmitter is offline
    • Additional prompt to avoid unintentionally changing frequency when a linked transmitter is not online to follow the change

KNOWN ISSUES

  • When controlling Axient devices with command Strings, only a single socket should be opened per device.

NOTES

  • For operation of Axient devices with other Shure networked systems, see the following list of minimum firmware versions that are supported with Axient version 1.10.2:
    • UR4 UHF-R receiver 1.166
    • UR3 Plug-on Transmitter 1.0.0.9
    • UR5 Portable Diversity Receiver 1.0.0.13
    • ULXD4x ULX-D Receivers 1.2.14
    • P10T PSM1000 Transmitter 1.3.4
    • Wireless Workbench 6 Beta version 6.5.0
1.9.2
July 9, 2012

NEW FEATURES

  • Support for third party control interfaces
    • The AXT400 Receiver and AXT900 Rack Charger can be monitored and controlled via command strings. The firmware update enables these devices to be controlled with programmable interfaces such as AMX and Crestron.
    • The technical bulletin which documents the command strings can be found here: http://shure.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/...
  • Frequency Diversity-Bodypack source indicator
    • When operating in Frequency Diversity-Bodypack mode, the AXT400 receiver now indicates which of the two RF channels is currently selected by the FD switching algorithm as the active source for the audio outputs of the receiver. The indicator ‘On’ appears beneath the ‘FD-Bp’ icon on the front panel display for the active RF channel and the same information is available in the WWB6 Properties Panel and Channel Strip for the receiver. The indicator facilitates troubleshooting if there is an acoustic problem with a microphone.

KNOWN ISSUES

  • The Unexpected Transmitter alert function is disabled when Interference Avoidance is set to ‘Off’. Unexpected Transmitter alert is a separate function from Interference Detection which alerts when signal is received from an Axient or UHF-R transmitter that is not linked to the receiver.
  • When controlling Axient devices with command strings, only a single socket should be opened per device.

NOTES

  • For operation of Axient devices with other Shure networked systems, see the following list of minimum firmware versions that are supported with Axient version 1.9.2:
    • UR4 UHF-R receiver 1.166
    • UR3 Plug-on Transmitter 1.0.0.9
    • UR5 Portable Diversity Receiver 1.0.0.13
    • ULXD4x ULX-D Receivers 1.2.14
    • P10T PSM1000 Transmitter 1.3.4
    • Wireless Workbench 6 Beta version 6.4.0 Beta
1.8.8
April 2, 2012

NEW FEATURES

  • Support for the following Axient transmitter frequency Bands: MA24, G1E, H4E, J5E, MJBX, K4E, L3E, M8, P8, P9, Q5
  • Support for the following Axient receiver variants: AXT400B, AXT400C
  • AXT400C receiver also supports the following UHF-R transmitter bands: A24, JBX, Q10a, Q5HK
  • The AXT400 receiver supports user-created frequency groups. Creation, editing and deployment of these groups to other receivers can be done from the front panel interface of the receiver (Radio>Options>Custom)
  • Custom Groups can also be created and edited from the AXT400 Properties panel in Wireless Workbench 6.
  • A Custom Group can include any frequency in the tunable range of the receiver. The selectable Channels within a Custom Group are filtered by the currently selected Band.
  • The Load function exports Custom Groups from a receiver over the network to other receivers of the same Model. This makes the Custom Groups available on the client receivers but does not set frequencies.
  • The Group Scan function can send Custom Groups to client Axient receivers set to the same band as the deploying receiver, and programs the client receivers with frequencies using the scan results.
  • Axient and UHF-R transmitters can get Custom Groups from the AXT400 receiver via IR Sync (from AXT400 menu select Tx>IR Presets>CG, select ‘Sync Custom Groups’ and then IR Sync the transmitter).

IMPROVEMENTS

  • Improved Front Panel Lock feature, allows some menu navigation to view settings while not allowing changes to parameters.
  • Improved resistance to interference from ultrasonic sources such as motion sensors.

KNOWN ISSUES

  • Using the AXT400 receiver as a scanning device from WWB6, the error message may appear: ‘Scanner reported no Scan ID Available’. This is triggered by a previous IR Sync operation from that receiver which included Custom Groups. The following actions will release the receiver from this state:
    • Start a scan from the receiver front panel menu (Radio>Scan, either Channel Scan or Group Scan function will clear the problem). It is not necessary to deploy the results of the scan.
    • Power cycle the receiver.
