IMPROVEMENT

  • Added new frequency band Z16 (1240 – 1260 MHz) for Japan

NOTES

  • Fixed bug relating to encryption mismatch conditions.
  • Fixed IR LED behavior when firmware updating transmitters.
  • Transmitters to be used with receivers must be updated via IR.  After the receiver is updated, follow these steps:
    1. Go to the receiver menu: DEVICE UTILITIES > TX FW UPDATE
    2. Align the infrared ports with the transmitter
    3. Press ENTER.
  • When updating transmitter firmware via IR sync, please use caution to not lose IR connection, as it’s possible in rare occasions for upgrades from 1.5.6 or earlier to 1.6.6 or later to cause transmitters to temporarily become non-responsive.  If the update fails and the unit is non-responsive, resolve the issue by following these steps:
    1. Using the Shure Update Utility, downgrade the firmware for the ULXD4/ULXD4D/ULXD4Q Receiver to 1.5.6 AND keep the desired transmitter firmware (1.6.6 or latest version).
    2. Update the transmitter firmware to 1.6.6 or the latest version via IR menu. From the receiver menu: DEVICE UTILITIES > TX FW UPDATE. Align the infrared ports with the transmitter and then press ENTER.
    3. Upgrade receiver to 1.6.6 or latest version.
  • For operation of ULX-D devices with other Shure networked systems, see the following list of minimum firmware versions that are supported with ULX-D version 1.7.34:
    • QLX-D receiver 1.0.15
    • UHF-R receiver 1.171

IMPORTANT

ULX-D 2.X firmware versions are incompatible with 1.X firmware versions. To ensure all receivers and transmitters in a configuration function with each other, update all devices to the same firmware version.

NEW FEATURES

  • Support for Access Control, which allows users to specify PINs for networked devices to restrict access to them from unauthenticated Shure control software.
  • AMX/Crestron control string to get the ULXD firmware version.
    • Command: < GET FW_VER >
  • Ability to reverse polarity on ULXD1 and ULXD1LEMO3 bodypacks.  To reverse polarity, use these options:
    • Bodypack Utilities menu:  UTILITY > POLARITY
    • Save the IR preset on the receiver and then IR sync to the bodypack to incorporate the polarity change: IR PRESETS > BP POLARITY

IMPROVEMENTS

  • Added new VHF frequency bands:
    • V50
    • V51
  • Dante™ update to software version 3.9.6.1 and firmware version 4.0.0.6
  • Improved audio stability in marginal RF conditions

NOTES

  • Users must update all transmitters used with receivers via IR. After the receiver is updated, follow these steps:
    1. Go to the receiver menu: DEVICE UTILITIES > TX FW UPDATE
    2. Align the infrared ports with the transmitter
    3. Press ENTER.
  • When updating transmitter firmware via IR sync, please ensure IR connection is maintained because, in rare occasions, upgrades from 1.5.6 or earlier to 1.6.6 or later can cause transmitters to temporarily become non-responsive.
