Shure Products Win Nine Industry Awards at CES, MacWorld, and NAMM

Company Honored at the Biggest Consumer Electronics and Professional Audio Events of the Year

 

NILES, IL, February 9, 2009 Shure Incorporated added nine new industry accolades to its award-winning product line up. The X2u XLR-to-USB Signal Adapter and SE115 Sound Isolating Earphones™ received CES Innovations 2009 Design and Engineering Awards, while leading consumer and audio technology publications, including Stereophile, Popular Mechanics, iLounge, and iProng also recognized the Company's SE530 and the new PG27USB and PG42USB Recording Microphones. In addition, the Company's UR1M micro-bodypack was recognized by The Music & Sound Retailer and two legendary products, the SM57 and SM58® microphones, received an award from Musical Merchandise Review.

The most recent Shure awards include:

 

CES Innovations Design and Engineering Award Honoree: At CES 2009, two of the newest Shure products were named CES Innovations 2009 Design and Engineering Award honorees. Model SE115, the most affordable and most colorful member of the Company's family of Sound Isolating Earphones, was selected in the Audio Components category. The X2u signal adapter, a modular accessory that connects any XLR microphone to a computer to create better-than-CD quality recordings, also earned honoree status in both the Computer Peripherals and High Performance Audio categories.

iLounge Best of Show Award: At Macworld 2009, the SE115 won the 2009 iLounge Best of Show Award. According to Jeremy Horwitz, editor-in-chief of iLounge, "The SE115 is one of the very best $100 earphones we've heard -- like the Company's super-premium SE530, it is a nicely balanced but appropriately warm earphone that will wholly satisfy users looking for great sound on a specific budget.”

 

iProng Magazine 2009 Best of Show Award: Also at Macworld, the SE115 won the iProng Magazine Best of Show Award. iProng Magazine based this year's selection on innovation, quality, value, uniqueness, and usefulness.

 

Popular Mechanics Editor's Choice Award: Also at CES 2009, the X2u signal adapter and PG27USB microphone, which connects to any USB computer port with “Plug and Play” performance, were chosen by Popular Mechanics editors for the Top 18 Products at CES 2009: PM Editor's Choice Awards.

 

Stereophile's Products of 2008: The SE530 Sound Isolating Earphones won first place in Stereophile's Products of 2008 in the Accessories category.

 

2009 Music & Sound Retailer Award: The UR1M Micro-Bodypack received an award this year in the category of “Best Wireless System.”

 

Musical Merchandise Review Dealers' Choice Award: Shure received the “Microphone of the Year” Award for the legendary SM57 and SM58® microphones.
