Shure to Host Advanced Wireless Seminar at Brandeis University

NILES, IL, July 15, 2010 – Shure Incorporated will host an Advanced Wireless Seminar on Friday, July 23, at Brandeis University in Waltham, Massachusetts. The Company has been staging these events around the U.S. for its dealers and customers for the past three years.

The session at Brandeis will be led by Gino Sigismondi, manager of technical training, and Tim Vear, senior applications engineer, who have four decades of combined experience at Shure. Both have spent much of their careers at Shure working in various technical support and training roles, and have authored some of the Company’s most popular educational booklets like “Selection and Operation of Personal Monitors,” “Selection and Operation of Wireless Microphone Systems,” and “Audio Systems Guide for Houses of Worship.”

“With all of the uncertainty surrounding White Spaces over the past few years and with so many unanswered questions about the future of the wireless landscape, our customers need this kind of training now more than ever,” said Sigismondi.

The Shure Advanced Wireless Seminar covers the fundamentals of radio waves, transmitter and receiver design, RF spectrum and ‘White Spaces,’ frequency coordination, antenna placement, scanning equipment, and software aids.

“As the spectrum becomes more crowded and the use of wireless audio equipment increases, wireless system setup becomes much more important,” added Sigismondi.  “These seminars continue to evolve, and as we start to get a little more clarity on what the landscape in UHF is going to look like in the next few years, we can tailor the agenda to give attendees the most up-to-date information on best practices for selecting and operating wireless microphone and personal monitoring systems.  Proper frequency selection and antenna set-up, now more than ever, are going to be the best tools for our customers to ensure successful operation of their wireless systems.”

More than 2,000 attendees have participated in Shure’s Advanced Wireless Seminars since the program began in 2007.  Additional seminars are planned around the country later this year  Attendees can earn Certified Technology Specialist renewal credits through InfoComm.
