Shure Shares Spotlight With Former “American Idol” Contestants At 35th AMA’s

Carrie Underwood, Daughtry Win Multiple Awards

NILES, IL, November 28, 2007 – For the first time in the 35 year history of the American Music Awards, the winners were chosen solely based on public votes cast online, which was especially good news for two “American Idol” alumni, Chris Daughtry, lead singer of the rock band bearing his name, and Carrie Underwood, a country music sensation and past “Idol” winner.  Each won three awards at the show on Sunday, November 18, at the NOKIA Theater in Los Angeles.

“Carrie Underwood and Chris Daughtry are two very talented artists and it’s great to see them enjoying such tremendous success,” said Bill Oakley, Regional Artist Relations Manager for Shure Incorporated.  “Carrie just continues to add to her mounting success after winning three awards at the CMAs a couple of weeks ago.”

In addition to Underwood and Daughtry, new Shure endorsers Rascal Flatts won the award for top country duo or group.

“I’m sure it’s especially rewarding for them to receive these awards, which were voted on strictly by their fans,” added Oakley.  “And, it’s very cool for us to see artists who we work with be recognized for their achievements.”

The evening featured several performances by artists using Shure UHF-R wireless with SM58, Beta 58A, and KSM9 microphones, including Daughtry, Duran Duran, Alicia Keys, Maroon 5, Ne-Yo, Nicole Scherzinger, Queen Latifah, Rascal Flatts, Sugarland, T-Pain, and will.i.am.
