Alice In Chains, KT Tunstall, Snow Patrol Enlist As Shure Ambassadors

Running The Gamut Of Musical Style, Shure Signs Veteran And Fresh Talent

NILES, IL, October 6, 2006— Constantly seeking out talent of the musical variety, Shure recently engaged the skills of veteran-rockers Alice In Chains, singer/songwriter KT Tunstall, Chicago’s hometown heroes Marty Casey & The Lovehammers, former British Army Captain James Blunt and the Scottish/Irish Export Snow Patrol to carry on the artist endorser torch.

"The summer season kept us busy and along the way we picked up some amazing talent to add to the Shure artist endorser line-up," Shure Artist Relations Manager Tom Krajecki says.  “We spent a lot of time putting the latest Shure products like our KSM9 microphone and UHF-R wireless system into the hands of these artists, and through that effort, several new Shure supporters were born.  We’ve gotten an especially strong response to the KSM9.”

Having spent a little time playing together here and there since the tragic loss of lead singer Layne Staley, a reunion seemed almost inevitable for Alice In Chains.  Getting back to the places where it all started, the band started touring smaller venues around the States, and Shure was there to make things a little louder for the band and their fans.  Touring with the new UHF-R wireless system and KSM9 for vocals, ULX wireless on guitars, and a host of Shure mics to complete the mix on stage, Alice In Chains is back and sounding their best.

KT Tunstall burst onto the singer/songwriter scene and became an overnight success almost by word of mouth alone.  In support of her debut release, Eye To The Telescope (Virgin Records), KT is out on the road and has packed her Shure SM58 for vocals and PSM 700 for monitors.  Windy City hometown heroes and “Rockstar: INXS” favorite Marty Casey his band The Lovehammers have been using Shure since the beginning of their musical journey, so in honor of their loyalty and their success, Shure has them well-equipped for their U.S. tour.  Marty is singing on a Beta 58 UHF-R wireless system, the guitars are on ULX wireless, and the whole band in on PSM 700 for monitors.

Snow Patrol is out on the road entertaining the masses, both faithful fans and new ones, with plenty of Shure gear to cover the stage, including Beta 58A on vocals and ULX on guitars.  Perhaps this year’s hottest balladeer, James Blunt is everywhere these days, and when he performs, a Shure Beta 58A can be found on his vocals and Shure mics are almost everywhere else on the stage.  The Shure artist endorser list goes on and continues to grow, including latest additions Hurt, Chris Brown, De La Soul, Anti-Flag, and Sammy Hagar.
