Building on Global Momentum, Shure Personal Audio Establishes Operations in the Asia-Pacific Market

Opens New Regional Office to Support Heightened Demand for the Company's Products; Appoints Consumer Marketing Veterans to Key Posts

 

Shure Incorporated's Personal Audio Business Unit (PABU) announced today at the 2006 International Consumer Electronics Show (CES) that it has opened a regional office in Hong Kong to address and support the growing global market opportunities for the company's awarding-winning products. The new office opening follows a year of continued growth and rapid success for the company that included the debut of three highly-acclaimed new product models and lines - the I Series Integrated Earphones + Mobile Headset, the E Series: Gaming Edition Earphones, and the E4c Sound IsolatingTM Earphones.

 

In tandem with its new Asia-Pacific presence, Shure also announced the appointment of Astrid Angvik to director of sales and marketing, Asia-Pacific, Personal Audio; and Anita Chau, regional marketing manager, Asia-Pacific, Personal Audio.

Astrid Angvik will lead PABU's sales and marketing efforts in the Asia-Pacific region, ensuring the strengthening of Shure's products and brands in this rapidly-growing market. She joins Shure following a 15-year career with Philips Electronics, where she managed complex business development and marketing projects across multiple categories, regions and cultures. Most recently she served as senior marketing director, Consumer Health & Wellness for Philips Domestic Appliances & Personal Care (DAP) division in the Asia-Pacific region, responsible for go-to-market strategies to support the rapid expansion of both Philips DAP's business-to-consumer and business-to-professional channels, for multiple start-up categories within Philips DAP.

 

In her new role as Regional Marketing Manager, Asia-Pacific, Personal Audio, Anita Chau will be responsible for driving the marketing strategy in the Asia-Pacific region for PABU. Prior to joining Shure, Anita had served in a variety of product and marketing management positions with leading consumer brands such as Philips, Kraft Foods, and Unilever. Most recently, Anita was marketing manager for Philips DAP's Shaving & Beauty regional Asia-Pacific office, where she managed the introduction process for shaving and beauty products in the APAC region, and monitored distributors in Australia and New Zealand to achieve common objectives and implement successful programs.
