Top Acts Make Shure Their Choice In Microphones

Many Styles, Bands to Solo Artists, The Mic is Shure

The groove-based rock style, the double platinum Songs About Jane, and the Cinderella rock story that goes along with it all made it almost impossible for the world to not take notice of the L.A. quintet Maroon 5. In the midst of a non-stop summer tour with Shure endorser John Mayer, Maroon 5 signed on as endorsers themselves, miking up the lead vocals with a U24D/Beta 58®, ULXP14 wireless on guitars, PSM® 700 for monitors, and an array of Shure mics for the rest of the backline.

"It's always rewarding to work with such a talented band that shows so much gratitude for where they are and one that still has a good time doing what they do on that stage every night," said Tom Krajecki, Shure's Artist Relations Manager. "Maroon 5 has such an appeal across so many genres and age groups. The guys truly have a unique talent and camaraderie as a band and we're proud to be a part of their live performance, which is not to be missed."

Along with Maroon 5 on the Shure roster of endorsing artists are other recent additions including Michael McDonald, Sonia Dada, Helmet, Flogging Molly, Ozomatli, and Rhonda Vincent.

Crossing over genres and breaking down barriers, Ozomatli are constantly re-inventing themselves, and now with an arsenal of Shure gear, the live sound of the group is also reaching new heights. Ozomatli delivers their signature, multi-cultural sound with Shure mics, including the ULXP24D/58 for vocals, an array of drum mics featuring a Beta 91 & Beta 52® on kick and KSM32 for overheads, and the SM7B for horns.

Taking it to the streets of Motown, Michael McDonald stopped by during a rigorous touring schedule playing the hits of yesterday, to pick up a few things from Shure. Now joining McDonald on stage, are the ULXP24/ Beta 58 for vocals, a KSM32 and SM57 on the Leslie Cabinet, and miking up the drums are the Beta 91, SM57, Beta 98, KSM137, and KSM32. To monitor the Motown sound on stage, McDonald and his band use the PSM 700.
