Shure Appoints Key Directors to Global Team
Consumer Electronics and Technology Veterans to Further International Expansion
Following a year of rapid market success and global demand, Shure Incorporated's Personal Audio Business Unit (PABU) today announced at RetailVision Fall 2005 the appointment of Steve Doering to the role of director, global product planning, Theresa Quinn-Accurso to the position of director, global finance and Kai Lehnert to director, marketing and sales EMEA Heilbronn. Shure also announced that Michelle Kohler and Susan Keeley have been promoted to director, global marketing communications and product marketing manager, respectively. The new hires and promotions are all designed to help the company expand its global consumer electronics presence.
"Shure's consumer audio products, namely the E Series earphones and QuietSpot® mobile headsets, have garnered world-wide attention, precipitating phenomenal company growth and justifying the potential of professional-grade consumer accessory products," said Mark Karnes, general manager, Personal Audio Business Unit. "With our growing international expansion, we anticipate even higher demand. Our ongoing success rests in our ability to continue to attract and retain the highest caliber talent. These five associates exemplify our ability to do just that, and we couldn't be happier to have them as part of our team."
Steve Doering will lead PABU's international product management efforts, including the development of Shure's consumer strategy and the supervision of PABU's overall product portfolio. He joins Shure following a twelve-year career at Motorola, where his responsibilities ranged from engineering development to sales, and technology licensing to portfolio planning. In his last position as the senior portfolio manager for mobile devices, Doering negotiated the agreement for inbound licensing of VST's voice recognition technology, which comprises 60 percent of Motorola's cell phone portfolio, and also secured a $25MM software licensing agreement.
In her new role as director, global finance, Quinn-Accurso will spearhead Shure's international finance efforts. She will be principally responsible for building the finance infrastructure to support the organization's internal management and business decision-making operations. Also a Motorola veteran, Quinn-Accurso brings to PABU five years experience in public accounting, as well as three years experience as an internal auditor. She held the position of financial reporting manager for nearly ten years at Motorola, ultimately moving up to a position of senior operations controller, in which she was responsible for all financial planning and reporting to PCS supply chain senior management for the global manufacturing of 70 million cellular phones annually.
Kai Lehnert joins Shure with more than ten years of marketing experience at companies such as Renault, Thompson Multimedia, and Philips. In his current position as director of EMEA at Shure, Lehnert will build the company's personal audio presence in Europe, Middle East, and Africa, and will also be accountable for all efforts around PABU sales, marketing, and operational execution. In his most recent role as marketing director for Renault, Lehnert supervised brand and product management and also led the company's dealer development initiative. During his time at Philips, Lehnert served as marketing manager of Central and Eastern Europe, Africa, and Middle East.
In addition to bringing several new highly accomplished veterans on board at Shure, the company has also made a number of key promotions. Shure recently promoted Michelle Kohler to director, global marketing communications and planning and Susan Keeley, a ten-year veteran of Shure, to the role of global product marketing manager.
With over ten years of technology marketing and public relations experience, including prior work at The Rolling Stone Network/Tunes.com and InstallShield Corp., Kohler has been responsible for managing Shure's U.S. communications rollout in consumer electronics. Under her direction, Shure re-launched its consumer brand identity and successfully introduced the company to the consumer press. Kohler will now oversee the global brand strategy, communication and identity for all of Shure's Personal Audio products worldwide.
Keeley began her Shure career in product management and sales and was instrumental in the early sales and marketing successes of Shure's consumer products. In her new position, Susan will manage and lead activities globally relating to product lifecycle management, including the go-to-market process, quality maintenance and assurance, and channel activities.
