Shure Signs Several New Endorsers
From Hip-Hop To Heavy Metal… and Everything in Between
Loose rhymes, a positive vibe, and deep, funk-fortified spirit have moved The Black Eyed Peas to the forefront of the hip-hop scene with a unique sound that defies categorization. Following the release of Elephunk, the band's latest album, the Pea's will.i.am, apl.de.ap, Taboo, and Fergie have signed with Shure as official endorsers, making wireless U24D/Beta 58 their choice for lead vocals and cutting the cord on guitar with ULXP14 wireless.
"Making the Peas part of the Shure family of endorsers gives us an opportunity to see what different technologies can do in the hands of exceptionally creative people," said Tom Krajecki, Shure's Artist Relations Manager. "They have an ear for new sounds, solid songwriting skills, and an ability to mold live instruments, samples, drum machines, and vocals into a unified, highly-expressive whole. I'm sure that having them on board will be a lot of fun."
Joining the Black Eyed Peas on the Shure roster of endorsing artists are other recent additions including The Crabb Family, Damageplan, Grandaddy, Judas Priest, MercyMe, P.O.D, Story of the Year, and Switchfoot.
Featuring former Pantera members Dimebag Darrell and Vinnie Paul, Damageplan's incendiary sound is now fueled with the help of U24D/Beta 58 wireless for lead vocals, U14D guitar wireless, and a drum kit featuring a Beta 52A/91 on kick, and SM57s on snare. Monitors for the hardcore, head-banging quartet include PSM 600 systems.
On the other end of the musical spectrum, MercyMe's chart-topping efforts within the world of Christian music are getting a boost from wide-ranging Shure offerings ranging from U24D wireless for vocals to KSM137s for high-hat, a Beta 52A and Beta91 on kick, and ULXP14 wireless for both guitar and bass. Monitoring sounds onstage is a task the six-piece band has given over to PSM 700 systems.
