Shure Hires New Vice President and General Counsel

Paul Applebaum to Manage Legal Affairs for Microphone Manufacturer

 

Shure Incorporated announced today that Paul Applebaum has been hired as Vice President and General Counsel. In this role, he will have responsibility for managing all of the Company's legal affairs, including contracts, intellectual property issues, etc.

 

"With more than sixteen years of experience in corporate and business transactional law, Paul will be a valuable addition to our Executive Staff," said Sandy LaMantia, President and CEO of Shure. "It should be a smooth transition for him because we already consider him a member of the Shure family. Having been our principal attorney at his former firm of Seyfarth Shaw for several years, he's gained an intimate knowledge of our business."

 

Prior to joining Shure, Paul was a partner at the law firm of D'Ancona & Pflaum LLC, which recently merged with Seyfarth Shaw LLP. During his career, he has provided legal counsel to public and private companies in a broad range of industries, from manufacturing to banking. He has extensive expertise in corporate contracts, joint ventures, banking and commercial finance, and mergers and acquisitions, in both U.S. and international issues.

 

Paul graduated magna cum laude from the University of Illinois with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science. He received his Juris Doctorate degree from the University of Chicago Law School. He is a member of the Illinois Bar Association.
