Shure Adds One of Country's Rising Stars To Its Roster of Artist Endorsers

During the recording of his latest album, Mud on the Tires (Arista Nashville), Brad Paisley found inspiration in everything from reality television and gospel to Texas honky-tonk. The GRAMMY® award-winning country star is currently on the road as part of a coast-to-coast tour, including stops in Canada and Alaska, with a serious collection of Shure gear along for the ride as one of the company's newest artist endorsers.

 

"I've been impressed with Brad since his debut album came out about five years ago," said Ryan Smith, Regional Manager, Artist Relations Nashville, for Shure. "He's an extremely talented musician and songwriter, and we're thrilled to welcome him into the Shure family."

 

Performing live with the same musicians heard on his new album, Paisley and his band are using Shure ULX wireless/SM58 system for lead vocals and SM86s for backing vocals. Cutting the cord on guitar as well with a U14D wireless setup, Paisley has effectively created a Shure-dominated input scheme onstage additionally using a KSM27 on guitar amp, Beta98s on toms, and PSM 700 for his personal monitors.

 

Other country artists joining Paisley on the Shure roster of official artist endorsers this month are versatile singer Patty Loveless, "Nashville Star" talent competition winner Buddy Jewell, and Carolyn Dawn Johnson, who recently released her sophomore album, "Dress Rehearsal."

 

Patty Loveless' microphone of choice these days is a ULX2/SM87.

 

Buddy Jewell and his band prefer the sound of ULXP24/Beta58 for vocals, KSM27 on guitars, and a combination of Beta52A, SM57, KSM137, Beta 98/S and KSM32 for drums. In addition, Jewell and his band are using PSM 700 for personal monitors.

 

Widely recognized around Music City for her singing and songwriting skills, Carolyn Dawn Johnson is a firm believer in the vocal qualities of her U2/SM58.
